Linda Foshee assumed the role of lay minister to Our Home Universalist Unitarian Congregation in 1999, and to Liberty Universalist Church (Louisville, MS), in 1997.  A native Mississippian, she received the Bachelor of Music Education degree from The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) in Hattiesburg, MS, and taught elementary music for ten years in the public schools of Mississippi. She served for twenty-eight years as Administrative Secretary to the Director of the School of Music at USM.  She retired in May of 2003.

A third-generation Universalist, Linda has been involved with worship for more than twenty-five years.  She presented a workshop on Universalism in the Mid-South District at the Unitarian Universalist 2000 General Assembly, sponsored by the Mid-South District and Murray Grove Retreat and Conference Center.  A frequent guest speaker at churches within the Mid-South District, Linda served for several years as mentor to the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Shoals, Florence, AL. She was chosen in 1986 by the Mississippi Religious Leadership Conference as one of twelve women in the state to be honored for significant contributions to the religious community.  She was a 1999 nominee for the Mid-South District “Unsung UU Award."

Linda is married to Jamie Foshee, retired band director who now serves as Director of Music Education Services for Mississippi Music, Inc.  Ethical vegetarians, they are both concerned with the welfare of animals and share their home with strays who need TLC.
