“A Black Woman Speaks: A Tribute to Beah Richards.”
The late Beah Richards was an actress (Guess Who's Coming to Dinner), writer, and civil rights activist.  She was ahead of her time when she took on the perpetrators of white supremacy in the 1974 poem, A Black Woman Speaks.  Hurst Semmons will share with us her relationship Richards and the events leading up to her reenactment of the one-woman show, A Black Woman Speaks.  Included in her presentation will be excerpts from the 2004 HBO documentary.  This service is presented in commemoration of Black History Month.

Discussing the abundance of recent evidence of a trend toward universalism, as an idea not a denomination, in mainline Christian churches. Carey comes to us from the Hattiesburg Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.
